The Grassroot Impact Centre (GIC) is Community Based Organization based in Nyakach, in Kisumu County within the greater Lake Victoria Region Economic Block (LREB). The Centre recognizes that knowledge plays a key role in poverty reduction, societal empowerment, and sustainable development.
The lake region where the GIC is located constitutes a significant portion of Kenya's population, natural and human resource base. The region, however, remains a major hotspot where poverty, deteriorating education are negatively impacting on the welfare of residents and the country at large.
Empowerment through education, knowledge use and mentorship remain a key hope for the future development of the region. We focus on creating sustainable solutions that address the root causes of poverty and inequality.
